Le Panda Du Mal By a miraculous accident you’ve wandered into a faerie festival in the woods. Enjoy the dances and don’t take the pranks personally. This music does just what it says- a Shakespearean vision as Paul Verlaine might have on one of his absinthe binges. The music is lush and full of fun nuances, with a pervasive sense of freedom and lightness that masks meticulous and ambitious songwriting. Favorite track: Apollo Flies, and Daphne Holds the Chase.

Kaptain Carbon Lord Lovidicus is a luminary in the genre and Midsummer continues to add to this artist's legacy with a record that is befitting the enchanting cover. Sensual and magical, Midsummer pays tribute to Shakespearian comedies as well as mythological tales of wonder and intrigue. I have always liked using Lord Lovidicus as an example of how melodic and regal, the genre of dungeon synth can become and Midsummer continues to add weight to my example.
Favorite track: Robin Goodfellow.

about

Mysteriously reappearing 2 years after the release of the 2018 album Saeculorum - Lord Lovidicus emerges with Midsummer, an impressionistic take on the artist's signature sound.

Midsummer draws inspiration from the Decadent movement and composers such as Debussy and Ravel, weaving complex arrangements and synthesizing them into what Crow has deemed fantasy neo-classical.

The result is an enlightened compendium of sub-aquatic nocturnes that exemplify romance and decadence.
